This long list of reasons for combing should make parents wonder why their particular school lice policy doesn't encourage combing instead of recommending treatments with pesticides. It's incredulous how much health and wellness can be gained with the use of one $12.00 non-consumable combing tool. With the challenges of COVID19 -- children returning to school still deserve to be protected from other communicable diseases including head lice and risky treatments. Pediculosis is a public health problem we can do something about and learn from. Relaxed school lice policies are counterproductive at a critical time when we need to set standards and build consistent messages in public health with respect for preventing infectious diseases whenever possible. Please share the list with other parents, your school principal, school nurse and child care provider. https://www.headlice.org/comb/what-are-head-lice-and-nits/head-lice-removal/combing-benefits/
